Connect your computer

OpenPod drives Pi sessions that run on your own computer. The OpenPod companion is what connects that computer to this page, so it has to be installed and paired once per machine.

  1. Install the companion on a computer you own and open it.
  2. Pair it: sign in with the same account you use here, choose the workspace folder it may work in, and grant remote-control consent. Signing in alone does not pair a computer.
  3. Keep the companion running and the computer awake, then reload this page.

Getting the companion

Packages are unsigned, so Windows SmartScreen and macOS Gatekeeper will warn about them. Do not bypass your computer's security policy for a build you do not trust.

Or let your coding agent do it

Run this on the computer you want to connect. It points the agent at the install guide and it takes care of the rest.

Already use Pi?

Use your existing Pi setup and credentials on the computer. No extra Pi login is needed if it is already configured. If Pi reports that no provider is configured, open Pi locally in the companion's workspace and run /login there. Do not copy provider tokens into this browser.

For an existing Pi terminal, run /reload once after connecting the companion. A Live terminal controls that actual terminal. Any other session on the computer can be resumed in place — open it and keep going; the original file is continued, not copied. Browsing a session never changes it until you act.

Remote commands have your desktop user's permissions. Only connect computers you trust. The app is served by the companion on your own computer; when remote control is on, traffic reaches it over HTTPS through the tunnel.

Install a Pi extension

A package name, a git: or https: source, or a folder on the pane's computer. The whole command works too — paste pi install npm:pi-hello as it is.

Installing carries on if you close this. You will be told when it finishes.

Extensions run on your computer with your permissions. Only install ones you trust.

Close this pane?

The Pi session will keep running on its computer.
